TERMS OF HIRE *

I understand that as the hirer I am assuming the position of 'Skipper' and therefore in law I am responsible for the craft and all the passengers on board. I understand that I am liable for any damage caused to the hire boat during my hire period. I fully understand my responsibilities as party leader for the safety of the craft, equipment and all passengers. In the event of accident or injury I confirm I will not attempt to hold Salcombe Launch Co. or its staff responsible for any injuries/loss howsoever caused. I agree that I will not venture South of a line from Limebury Point to Splat Cove. I understand that lifejackets must be warn at all times when on onboard the craft, and agree to where a Killcoard. I have been made aware of the maximum number of persons allowed onboard my hire boat and I agree not to exceed this. I do not hold Salcombe Launch Co. or it's staff responsible for any incident where this rule is ignored. Complete a handover upon arrival to assess my boat handling abilities. If our staff decide you are not confident enough to be left unattended, we will hold your deposit (or the value of 1 day's hire if the deposit amount is under £175). I AGREE THAT I WILL NOT: Jump off my hire boat when underway or when the engine is running - Even if the boat is stationary. Operate my hire boat when under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Remove/fit any components from/to my hire boat. Return the boat after the agreed termination of the hire period. Exceed the no. of passengers allowed on my hire boat at one time. Smoke whilst onboard my hire boat. Land on the Ferry Inn Slipway or East Portlemouth slipway. Land or anchor off of Sunny Cove or North Sands. Exceed harbour speed limits at any time Stand outside of my hire boat when the engine is running.
